I really enjoyed letting myself be carried away by the organization set up by Sariaka from Escapades Madagascar. Especially his last minute change of boat to go to Ste Marie, at the end of the circuit.
Everything was good, Choice of Places to visit; Drivers and Guide and their 4x4s in good condition; Airplanes & Boats with attendants always present at departure or arrival; and finally the Hotels throughout the circuit which were good. Perhaps the last hotel, for 5 days, the Lodge which was on the roadside, very noisy. For a few Euros more, it could be seaside??
I travel very little, if ever outside of Europe. This tour to see the north of Mada, possible in 3 weeks, meant a lot to me who lived there for 3 years in my early youth. Seeing Diego, its bay with its sugar loaf and its Emerald Sea, so good. Experiencing Nationale 6, you have to see it to believe it!! We visited the amber forest, the red tsingy and Ankarana park, it was magical. Nosy be with Sakatia Island by boat, almost touched by the hand of turtles with charming passengers, it was ideal. Followed by visits including Lemuria Land, it was perfect. Jump to the other side of Mada to visit the hotel islands in Andasibe with its lemurs. Then the next day, immerse yourself in the primary forest of Maro Miza, walk…, Indri indri and Sikafa lemurs, Boa, Chameleons, waterfall. I was exhausted after 5 hours of walking, but amazed! A trip to Tamatave, in a beautiful hotel on the edge of the Indian Ocean! 4×4 journey from Tamatave to Mahambo, road condition even worse than the N6!! Boat trip from SOANIERANA IVANGO to Ste Marie, epic and very very eventful; a walnut shell on an ocean for 2 hours, to live!! And rest on Ste Marie, with meetings and visits to Ampanihi Bay in the rain but with the guide and other charming people! Extra in the end. And visit the island of mats with the same people as yesterday. What a beauty !! It was a grueling trip but personalized just for me. It was a good choice, good organization and flawless follow-up. No hassle, just fun. A very small regret, not having been able to meet a beekeeper, my passion. But it is harvested beekeeping that is practiced, I brought back 4 different kinds of honey taken along my route. Thank you for allowing me to organize this trip with Escapades, Sariaka was the ideal organizer.
Once again we are satisfied with the services of Escapades, the local guides who took care of us and who passed on to us the love of their country. No worries in the choice of accommodation, trouble-free travel and authentic visits, in contact with the population, a schedule leaving free time, this is how we like to travel.
We are a young couple in our late thirties and we have just returned from a 2-week trip to the north of the island. September is just perfect. Much fewer tourists, more personalized activities, perfect temperature (really not too hot) and the prices are more affordable since it is their end of season. I had never taken an organized trip and I was rather skeptical but above all unsure about the idea. We still decided to give it a try with the Escapades Meilleur Décision Agency! WOW! We had great service and Miora, our organizer, listened carefully to our needs and expectations. Throughout the trip, she was available via internet/whatsapp to answer my questions. Not to mention that I had about 3 or 4 calls with her before the trip to personalize the trip/activities and receive some advice before departure. She even rescheduled us with a surprise additional activity since the captain at the Emerald Sea had forgotten our snorkeling equipment. So we had a double trip to Nosy-Be to go swimming with the turtles. DIEGO: Although we lost a day and a half because of Air Madagascar (the Pope was in the city which disrupted the flights), she immediately contacted our driver who was quick to change our schedule to be certain to be able to give us the experience we had missed. As a result, one of our days was much busier than expected but still wonderful! Hats off to our driver, Ferdinand who accompanied us all the way to Diego.
He chose quality people for the various activities on the program (boat captain, guide at the Ambre mountain, etc.). Always right on time, faithful to the post! Tip: Even if it is listed as a “Tourist” park, tell yourself that nothing is really set up (no shop, not always toilets, not always security barriers, etc.). This is what makes the place so charming, but be warned and take the minimum with you (hand sanitizer, toilet paper, water bottle, etc.). The food just WOW! I wouldn’t have changed anything about the program at all! NOSY BE: On Nosy Be, as it is more touristy, we had several different guides depending on the activities. Super competent and kind. Be aware that this part is more touristy which gives a big cultural shock. We slept in a Lodge which was very good and very clean! The food on the other hand is ok but nothing more. Sakatia, Iranja and island tour are the activities we did. It was superb! We spent just one day in Tana and believe me, it was a lot! Only 2 or 3 attractions to visit so easily doable in 1 day. Even our guide didn’t really know what to show us… We had 2 snorkeling activities, equipment included in the schedule so I didn’t bring mine on the trip. Big mistake since ALL the beaches (iranja, Emerald Sea, the 3 bays) are all interesting for snorkeling! Thank you again for this dream trip! Everything was perfect!
