The diversity of activities, places visited and accommodation.
The state of the roads but Escapades has nothing to do with it! Just 2 comments on our program: Day 4: Discovering the baobabs of the North. The proposed excursion is no longer possible due to the state of the roads. Instead, we went to see baobabs in Diego Suarez Bay and visited Diego Suarez. Very nice excursion. Day 6: Red Tsingy – Ankarana. We visited the red Tsingys that day but not the part of the gray Tsingys (suspension bridge, etc.) due to lack of time due to the state of the road and consequently the duration of the journey to Iharana Bush Camp.
It was very pleasant to make this trip with competent, kind, attentive guides and drivers. We really enjoyed the walks in the forest and in the Tsingy as well as the excursions to the islands around Nosy Be.
Once again we are satisfied with the services of Escapades, the local guides who took care of us and who passed on to us the love of their country. No worries in the choice of accommodation, trouble-free travel and authentic visits, in contact with the population, a schedule leaving free time, this is how we like to travel.
We are a young couple in our late thirties and we have just returned from a 2-week trip to the north of the island. September is just perfect. Much fewer tourists, more personalized activities, perfect temperature (really not too hot) and the prices are more affordable since it is their end of season. I had never taken an organized trip and I was rather skeptical but above all unsure about the idea. We still decided to give it a try with the Escapades Meilleur Décision Agency! WOW! We had great service and Miora, our organizer, listened carefully to our needs and expectations. Throughout the trip, she was available via internet/whatsapp to answer my questions. Not to mention that I had about 3 or 4 calls with her before the trip to personalize the trip/activities and receive some advice before departure. She even rescheduled us with a surprise additional activity since the captain at the Emerald Sea had forgotten our snorkeling equipment. So we had a double trip to Nosy-Be to go swimming with the turtles. DIEGO: Although we lost a day and a half because of Air Madagascar (the Pope was in the city which disrupted the flights), she immediately contacted our driver who was quick to change our schedule to be certain to be able to give us the experience we had missed. As a result, one of our days was much busier than expected but still wonderful! Hats off to our driver, Ferdinand who accompanied us all the way to Diego.
He chose quality people for the various activities on the program (boat captain, guide at the Ambre mountain, etc.). Always right on time, faithful to the post! Tip: Even if it is listed as a “Tourist” park, tell yourself that nothing is really set up (no shop, not always toilets, not always security barriers, etc.). This is what makes the place so charming, but be warned and take the minimum with you (hand sanitizer, toilet paper, water bottle, etc.). The food just WOW! I wouldn’t have changed anything about the program at all! NOSY BE: On Nosy Be, as it is more touristy, we had several different guides depending on the activities. Super competent and kind. Be aware that this part is more touristy which gives a big cultural shock. We slept in a Lodge which was very good and very clean! The food on the other hand is ok but nothing more. Sakatia, Iranja and island tour are the activities we did. It was superb! We spent just one day in Tana and believe me, it was a lot! Only 2 or 3 attractions to visit so easily doable in 1 day. Even our guide didn’t really know what to show us… We had 2 snorkeling activities, equipment included in the schedule so I didn’t bring mine on the trip. Big mistake since ALL the beaches (iranja, Emerald Sea, the 3 bays) are all interesting for snorkeling! Thank you again for this dream trip! Everything was perfect!
