Les plus :

Cross the country of Tana to the south and see the evolution of landscapes, homes, cultures, climate. The Malagasy people are very kind, tolerant and respectful. The beaches near Ankasy lodge are superb, clean and heavenly…

Les moins :

Poverty everywhere and especially in the city. Cities are not beautiful, polluted, dirty, miserable. The state of the roads is deplorable, a disaster for this country which wants to get by despite everything. And everyone is trying to manage to have water, shelter, a job… It’s hard to see.

Description du voyage :

We are very happy with our trip organized by Jeannie. She was always attentive and ready to answer our questions or our wishes. The driver guide also did his job well, always listening to our needs and desires. His job is not easy given the state of the roads and traffic. The choice of stops, visits to parks, artisan shops etc. also suited us. The choice of hotels was sometimes a little too upscale for our taste. We didn’t like the first hotel in Antsirabe, the Royal Palace, which was too chic in a poor and miserable environment. The snacks offered by the hotels were very expensive. More expensive than in a Malagasy restaurant, we still had to find it adapted to our fragile digestive systems… The most original accommodations which appealed to us much more were Camp Catta and Ankasy lodge. In the latter, water was brought by Vezo canoeists every day… it made us think and allowed us to put things into perspective in relation to our Western life. Moreover, it is this contrast between life in rich countries and that in a country like Madagascar which shocked us most and which we will remember most from our trip.
